The story
Lyas Grey was never meant to be a hero.
But when monstrous creatures descend upon his peaceful island home, his sheltered life ends in blood and fire. His family is torn apart, and his father’s final words reveal a devastating secret: Lyas was born to another family, one that was being hunted.
Fleeing across the Shattered Isles, Lyas finds refuge at the Temple of Four Elements, where an ancient Stone awakens a power he never knew he possessed.
Lyas is a Magi.
But magic brings more questions than answers, and the truth of his origins remains tantalisingly out of reach.
When fate throws him together with a dangerous company of thieves carrying the legendary Circlet of Mara, Lyas finds himself caught in a deadly pursuit. The circlet is no ordinary treasure. Its mysterious power is coveted by the servants of the Unseen One, a master of shadow whose schemes have been unfolding for decades.
Hunted across treacherous seas and ancient lands, surrounded by allies with secrets of their own, Lyas must learn to control his newfound abilities and discover whom he can trust.
For the Circlet of Mara is not the only secret worth killing for.
And some truths are more dangerous than the monsters pursuing him.
